28 Weeks
At my appointment today I learned that my pregnancy is still completely normal, no pre-term labor in sight! It is so nice not having to worry about the baby coming early- I can actually enjoy it a little. Bed rest was pretty much the worst thing ever, and would not be fun with Kaden to worry about, so we are blessed! We also got a good look at the baby- he is getting big. We saw his cute nose, lips and chin- and still no question he's a boy...
Bye, bye binkies

Well we have been meaning to wean Kaden from his binkies for a while now, and so this weekend we decided to just go cold turkey. We gathered up all his binkies and took them to the store. Then we told him to pick out a toy that he wanted to "buy" using his binkies. He picked two little monster trucks and "paid" the cashier with his binkies. He asked a couple times for his bink at bed time, but when I reminded him that he gave them all to the cashier for his trucks he didn't fuss at all, and slept with the trucks the first night instead. So far so good- no binks for 2 nights (and last night he stayed in his own bed all night too!)
NEW EMAIL ADDRESS
We are phasing out our @thekentfam.com emails because we use blogger instead of our old website. So Tyler and I will start using gmail accounts. If you had my old email and need the new (and I haven't already sent you an update email for some reason) then just contact me and I will send you the new info so you can update your address books.
Thanks!
Thanks!
Thanks Grandma!
So after numerous failed attempts at finding a maternity dress that wasn't fluorescent, had big patterns, or shaped like a tent, my Grandma made me two! Store bought things are sometimes hard to fit, and so these custom dresses were the perfect thing. They are so cute and comfy- I am really lucky to have such a great Grandma.
23 Weeks and All is Well
Well today I had an ultrasound to check things out and make sure I haven't had any dilation and things looked great- totally normal and secure! (At 23 weeks last pregnancy I had already started dilating due to pre-term labor and I was put on bed rest.) During the ultrasound the baby kept doing flips- it was so cool to watch. More good news is that his positioning and that of the placenta and everything is also advantageous for the c-section that I will have. So far, so good!
Irresistable...
This is Bellatrix, the newest addition to our family. I know, I know, but look at her! She is an 8.5 week old Labradoodle- her mom was a fox red Labrador and her dad was an apricot Standard Poodle. This breed is supposed to be the ultimate family dog- and so far I agree! She is so good with Kaden (and he LOVES his new playmate), and she is very smart and obedient already (she minds better than Kaden usually- I only have to say things once). She likes to make sure we're all in the same room, and if Kaden wanders off, she takes off after him to bring him back.
Summer come back!

Well I am officially over winter- I am glad it snowed a lot, so let's just call it good and bring on the warm weather. We are tired of being cooped up in the house and getting sick every other week. Kaden has had little bouts of sickness seriously every couple of weeks since November. Luckily they've been pretty minor- but still annoying! He has a cold and fevers this week and now I think I've finally caught it- not fun. I can't wait until we're better and can start getting out and about again.
