A Thousand Splendid Suns

I am not an extremist; I am not the type of person to be overly-patriotic and make a show of it, or to burn my bra and hate men, but reading this book made me realize just how good we have it here comparatively. A lot of people like to complain about our government, and politicians annoy me to no end-- but it could be worse, a lot worse. I was shocked at how recent the events described in this book occurred (some still going on). Afghanistan seems like such a far away place, that I guess I hadn't connected the dots. It isn't often I read a book that affects me this way- it really made me think about how blessed I am to live where I live, be educated, have freedom, security, and a loving husband.

Helping Dad

Ty has been putting in our sprinklers for the last month or so and Kaden has been 'helping' him. Kaden loves anything to do with dirt, and this time with his dad has been really special too.

One Day

Ok, so reading everyone's Earth Day posts has got me thinking- and I've decided Earth Day is crap. Don't get me wrong, I definitely enjoy the Earth-- it's just that it seems like people should be more aware of our impact on the Earth ALL the time...not just one day a year. It's kind of like Mother's Day, Father's Day etc...we should appreciate those people all year long- not just on some random day created to make money. Sorry you had to hear my rantings...I'm done now. Happy un-Earth day & I love you mom.

The Anti-Scrapper

My friends are always bugging me to scrap, and I am kind of anti-- I can't see spending so much money on supplies etc. So I've dabbled in some digi-scrapping (i.e. FREE scrap booking) and here are some examples of my work (hope you're happy girls, this is as good as it gets):

Rumble

This is Kaden pretending to be a transformer named "rumble." It snowed again so we are stuck inside...poor Bella was the target of his attacks, but she survived- barely!

"But my shirt says..."

So Kaden got this t-shirt last December from his Nana and Papa that says "If mom says no, ask grandma." He really got a kick out of it, but it's been a while since he's worn it...but last night he asked me for something and I said no; when he started to ask my grandma for the same thing I cut him off, telling him I had already said no. So he replies: "But my shirt says to ask grandma!" It was pretty funny...I couldn't argue.

31 Weeks

Ok, this is not pretty, but there have been demands for another belly shot- here we are at 31 weeks. (New hair too! I was feeling frumpy, it was a good pick-me-up!)
