Yep, we're having a girl! I am beyond excited & Ty is already planning their first daddy-daughter date (I think it will involve a nice poopie diaper or two and LOTS of cuddling). Oh yeah, she's healthy too-good heart, brain, kidneys, etc...and NO boy parts :) Now I can finally justify all the secret online shopping I've been doing :) Here are a couple of things I'm looking forward to:

Headbands with flowers, bows, feathers...sigh!

Flower beanies

Cute dresses

And these adorable leg warmers (GOT to be easier than tights where diaper changing is concerned)

Did I mention dresses?

and skirts.

AND tutus

And this magical infant carseat cover that can turn my faded boy seat into a beautiful girly seat.

And this super-cute girly bedding!

All the dressing up will be fun but I'm also just glad she's healthy and on her way! Kaden is way excited too. Here is how our conversation went- before and after the appointment.
Before
Me: Today I'm going to the Dr. to find out if you're having a baby sister or brother
Kaden: It's a sister. Is she coming out today?!
Me: No, we're just looking inside my tummy with a machine.
Kaden: (in distress) But I want to see inside!
Me: We'll bring home a movie of the baby for you to see. (We got a dvd of the ultrasound)
Kaden: Ooookaaaaay...a movie on the tv!? Cooool!
After- on the phone
Me: Kaden you're having a baby sister!
Kaden: YAY! A baby sister! Good job, mom!

Kyson, of course, has no idea what is going on...he just grins and points to my stomach when we tell him there's a baby in there. He'll find out soon enough...

Dun, dun, dun...

*1st Day of Preschool!*

When I asked Kaden what he wanted for his special school breakfast he said, "I don't know but I want it in a heart!" So I made this yummy breakfast casserole and cinnamon rolls. Dad stayed a little later than normal and drove instead of taking the train so that he could eat with Kaden.

Kaden posing with his heart-shaped casserole & cinnamon roll. I had to beg him to eat it in the end because he was convinced that if he didn't eat then he could go to school sooner.

Dressed and ready in his new school clothes & backpack.

He wore this backpack for 72 hours straight after we bought it.

A quick snapshot with mom before heading out the door.
He wouldn't let me take any pictures once we got to the school because he was too excited to get there. Once we got to the room he stuck on his name tag himself and went to find something to do...no tears or second guessing. When I was ready to leave him he was already busy playing so I didn't even get a goodbye hug! I said, "Ok dude I'm leaving, I'll be back to pick you up later." He just said, "OK mom, BYE!" I lingered in the hallway a minute to watch through the window- he was doing a puzzle and talking to the boy next to him. I made it the whole morning without crying...it was touch and go for a minute but I pulled through :)

Cool & Gross

I was recently looking online to identify some harmless tiny bugs we found downstairs and came across this website: http://www.whatsthatbug.com/. It is very useful and actually kind of funny sometimes...the bug guy likes to be clever. There's even a section on 'unnecessary carnage' where he posts the dead bug pics he gets and sometimes explains why that certain bug should be left alive (he is anti-extermination). I wasn't able to find our bug on the site- they're probably too boring to find anywhere...but I did ask him about them and hopefully I'll get a response soon...I didn't tell him we spray for bugs 4 times a year...So anyway I thought I'd pass along this site in case any of you ever needed to identify a bug!

Cali 2009

Here are pics from our vacation- sorry there's so many but I don't like making/watching slideshows. So happy scrolling!

Kaden and Elena at the pool the day we arrived.
Ty (looking sexy) playing peek a boo with Kyson.
Kaden having a laugh with dad.
Chicken fight!
Kyson taking a break from playing jungle gym on me @ Huntington Beach.
Tyler and Brad playing like kids in the waves.
Ky riding his horse at Adventure City.
On the mini-ferris wheel.
Ky wasn't too sure.
Kaden buckling in for the ride...
(It was a mini-ish version of the one at lagoon, but still pretty high up there!)
Driving his police car like papa.
Kaden and Elena posing on their train ride.

It was an awesome trip! The boys were so good on the long drive and during our stay. We were glad the Parkers would come too-- it was fun hanging out and Kaden was in heaven to have Elena to himself for a week!

Greetings from the pac...

Here's a vacation preview...we're having too much fun to post any more right now :) See ya soon!
